The performance and installation “Sonora, subterranean e infravisual” by the Barcelonan Sabina Simon, arrives February 13 as the first project from the finalist of the II Convocatoria de Arte Emergente from the foundation Casa Pintada-Cristobal Gabarron Museum (FCP). The Bodega of the mansion known as muleña is chosen to represent the exhibition until the 16th of March the metaphor of a “beating heart beneath the weight of the earth.”
Through the installation ‘'O Coração sob to terra' the artist establishes a link between a beating heart underground with something in common to all human beings: the primary emotions like sadness ecstasy, fear, hatred, disgust and surprise. In Sabina Simon’s words, “the Bodega FCP is the most rooted part of the house, and somehow it is the it is a passageway between the underground, dense and unaltered and the surface fleeting and oxygenated. The mouths of the jars are the exit of the light from the arteries that connect both spaces through sound. Thus, a series of severe speakers are located inside the jars as a metaphor of the hearts chambers, while other speakers emit human voices, vocal voices and consonants free of reasoning and meaning of words.” During the performance (18), celebrating February 13 at 20:00h two vocalist will sing in a minimalist language the emotions of the heartbeat under the cellar.

Part of the works by Sabina Simon (Barcelona 1980) is based in the reflection on the visual-in visual dichotomy surrounding the image. After studying photography in Barcelona, she traveled to New York and Brazil where she inquest the image, the sense of vision and the human limits in internal gregarious, through individual and collective performances where blindness is the catalyzed element. In 2010 this project brings clarity to its limit, as an artist in residence at the mARTadero of Cochabamba, Bolivia, she spends 40 days and 40 nights with her eyes and head covered with plaster in order to voluntarily experience the creative process without the ability to see.
Since 2009, the artist has collaborated with the International Center of Photography of New York, with a group of blind photographers, Seeing with Photography of new York, the department of Image from the University of Brazil, the artist Luiz Simoes, the philosopher Luca de Pietri, and the Artphilein Foundation for the concept, production and presentation of the establishment Prost in the Kuntskalle de Vienna
